Computer Applications:
Week of August 30: 8-30: Students will finish the Computer Basics 2 unit in the AES software. 8-31: Microsoft Office Basics Unit 9-1: Microsoft Office Basics Unit 9-2: Intro to Computers vocab test 9-3: Timed Writing, (2nd block: Intro to Emails)
Week of September 7: 9-7: Intro to Emails: adding folders, managing contacts, creating groups, using cc and bc, managing SPAM, adding a signature line, creating a vacation response, adding an attachment, editing page layout and adding stationary. 9-8: Assignment: Technology Jobs on the Rise http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/30/AR2010083002252.html?referrer=emailarticle 1. Read the article above. 2. Choose one of the careers mentioned. 3. Research the career. Find and describe the job duties and potential earnings. 4. Write a professional email to me, using proper formatting, informing me of your findings. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE! a. Use stationary b. Send a copy to your neighbor c. Save one of your research hits as a Single file web page. Attach that page to the email. d. Use a signature line.
