Use of Electronic Devices in the Classroom

With the implementation of the district's BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy, I have distributed and reviewed my classroom policy regarding the use of all electronic devices. Please take time to review this information. Click here to see my classroom BYOD policy.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday Independent Reading

Students check out a fiction book in the library and read it for 15 minutes at the beginning of class on MWFs. They are responsible for reading independently and write an active reading response immediately after their reading on those days. I initial their reflection as proof it is complete and they turn them in on Fridays for a  weekly grade. There will be a book project at the end of the nine weeks. Details to come as it gets closer to time.

Should you need a copy of the active reading responses given to the students, please click here.

Weekly Agenda

It is the student's responsibility to collect work from an absence within the 5 school days of returning. There may be slight changes to the plans each day, depending on the progress of the class and whether or not there are any interruptions within the regular school schedule (fire drills, pep rallies, guidance visits, assemblies, etc.). Should you have any questions regarding any class activities, please contact me.

Week of March 3-7: Students are testing on the play, A Raisin in the Sun, on Tuesday. We will begin a new unit this week about Colonialism and will begin our visual book report project on Friday in the library. Projects will be completed on Monday and we will begin presentations on Tuesday.
